REIGN

Set up PeepSo

Install PeepSo, the defaults Reign applies on activation, and the settings you control from Reign Settings > Community.

Reign styles PeepSo once it is active. PeepSo does not get a panel in the Customizer the way BuddyPress does; instead, its settings live entirely in Reign Settings, and Reign’s colour, typography and layout settings apply to PeepSo screens automatically alongside the rest of your site.

Install and activate

Go to Plugins > Add New, search for “PeepSo”, then Install Now and Activate. PeepSo creates its own Activity, Members, Profile, Groups and Messages pages during setup.

What Reign does automatically on activation

The first time Reign and PeepSo are both active, Reign fills in a set of sensible defaults without asking: a cover-style header for member profiles and groups, a grid-style layout for the member and group directories, cover images turned on for both members and groups, and a matching sidebar layout applied to PeepSo’s own pages. It also assigns a dedicated single-column template to the profile and group pages, and adds starter widgets (an online members list, and community photo/video/hashtag widgets where those PeepSo modules are active) to the header and sidebars. You do not need to set any of this up by hand, only adjust it if you want something different.

What you control: Reign Settings > Community

Once PeepSo is active, Reign Settings > Community shows a PeepSo Settings tile with four tabs:

  • Profile/Group Cover Image - the default cover image used before a member or group uploads their own, set separately for profiles and groups.
  • Social Media Links - add sites (name plus icon) that then appear as editable link fields on every member’s profile edit form, under “Your Account”.
  • PeepSo Profile Settings - the profile page layout (Default, Wide Cover, or Full Width), a cover-height slider, and a toggle to center the avatar and action buttons.
  • PeepSo Group Settings - the same three controls for group pages.

If you choose Full Width for either layout, that page’s width also follows the container-width setting under Customize > General > Global Layout, so the two settings work together rather than needing to match by eye.

Where PeepSo borrows the rest of your Reign settings

PeepSo pages are not exempt from the rest of the theme:

  • Typography. Your font choices under Customize > Typography apply to PeepSo’s interface as well, so there is nothing separate to set there.
  • Sign-in & Register Popup. With PeepSo active, the popup’s Register Redirect option is hidden, because PeepSo handles its own post-registration redirect.

Then check it

Load a member profile and a group page. Confirm the cover layout, sidebar and social links match what you set in Reign Settings > Community, and check the same pages at phone width.
