Collect emails via opt-in

Run dual-platform for 60 days
Post in both. Show members the new platform is better (search, no algorithm, replies threaded).
Migrate top content manually
Top 20-50 most-engaged FB posts: copy + post on Reign blog. Set up redirect from FB to Reign equivalents.
Phase out FB activity
Reduce FB posting frequency. Final post announces full migration + FB group becomes archive.
Before you start.
Export what you can while the group is still live, which is mostly the member list in whatever form Facebook allows, and screenshot the pinned posts and files that matter. Facebook gives you very little, so plan on rebuilding rather than importing. The critical step is collecting contact details before you need them: you cannot email a Facebook group, and once members drift away there is no way to reach them.
What to check once it is live.
Verify that new members can find and join without an admin approving each one manually, unless that is deliberate. Check the site on a phone, because Facebook group members are overwhelmingly on mobile and will judge the new home on that first. Post daily for the first fortnight yourself; a group that looks empty on arrival loses the people who took the trouble to come.
Where this one usually goes wrong.
Assuming members will follow because they said they would. Facebook is habit and the group appears in a feed people already scroll; your site requires a deliberate visit. Expect a significant drop and plan for it: give people a specific reason to come, post consistently, and keep the Facebook group running as a signpost for months rather than closing it in a fortnight.

Will I lose all FB group members?
You will lose anyone who does not opt-in. Typical conversion: 10-30% of FB members move to new platform within 90 days. Communicate value clearly.
Can I export FB group data?
No - Facebook explicitly blocks member email export. You must collect opt-ins on the FB side and migrate via signup form on yourbrand.com.
Can I export my Facebook group?
Barely. Facebook gives you very little, so plan on rebuilding rather than importing and collect contact details while the group is still active. That last point matters more than anything technical: once members drift, there is no way to reach them.
How do I keep members engaged during the move?
Post on the new site daily for the first fortnight, and cross-post the best of it back to the Facebook group with a link. People need to see activity before they commit to a second destination, and an empty site loses the ones who took the trouble to visit.
