Backup the site

Test on staging
Clone to staging. Activate Reign. Inspect every BuddyPress + LearnDash surface.
Audit custom CSS
Any custom CSS targeting BuddyBoss-specific classes needs rewriting for Reign classes. Use browser DevTools to identify.
Decide on BuddyBoss Platform
BuddyBoss Platform (the engine) stays and Reign supports it, so only the theme switches. If you later want off BuddyBoss licensing entirely, BuddyNext is our own engine and installs free.
Production cutover
When staging looks right, deactivate BuddyBoss Theme + activate Reign. Clear cache.
Post-launch monitoring
Watch for member confusion in first 48h. Some members will notice the new design + ask questions.

Migration questions.
Will I lose data?
No - BuddyBoss Theme + Reign Theme both run on top of BuddyPress / BuddyBoss Platform. Member data + groups + activity all stay.
What about BuddyBoss App?
BuddyBoss App requires BuddyBoss Theme + Platform. Switching to Reign disables BuddyBoss App. Add a Reign-compatible mobile app via AppPresser if needed.
Can I keep BuddyBoss Pro plugins?
Some - the Platform-level Pro features stay. Theme-level features (BuddyBoss Theme styling, Theme add-ons) go away.
