Do I need a Reign add-on to use WP Career Board?

No. Reign add-ons exist because third-party engines need styling the theme does not ship with. WP Career Board is ours, so the theme already knows its templates. Buy Reign, install the plugin, and the pages come out looking like the rest of the site.

Is WP Career Board free?

Yes. The free version gives you job listings, search and filters, and applications. It is a working plugin, not a trial. Pro adds employer dashboards, resumes, paid listings, and a hiring pipeline from $69 a year, and it is optional.

What do I actually have to buy?

The Reign theme, $99 a year or $249 once for a single site. That is the only required purchase in this pairing. WP Career Board installs free on top of it, and its Pro plan is a separate decision you can make later or never.

Can I use WP Job Manager instead?

Yes, and Reign has styled WP Job Manager for years through the Reign add-ons, $39 a year each for one site. The difference is the add-on: with WP Career Board there is nothing extra to buy for the styling.

I already run BuddyPress or BuddyBoss. Does this still work?

Reign styles that stack too, and always has. Keep the engine you know. The BuddyPress Community Bundle collects our Pro community plugins for it into one licence, from $249 a year or $699 lifetime.

The pieces / Jobs

Reign + WP Career Board

A job board your members can actually read.

WP Career Board holds the listings and the applications. Reign decides how a results page looks when there are two hundred jobs on it, which is the part that determines whether anyone uses the board twice.

WP Career Board installs free and inherits the theme's design. Pro is a separate decision you make later.

What WP Career Board does, free and paid

The line between the two is the same for every one of our plugins: the free version runs a real site, and Pro is for the point where that site starts earning.

Free version: Job listings, search and filters, and applications.
Pro adds: Employer dashboards, resumes, paid listings, and a hiring pipeline.
Pro from: $69/yr

How the two fit together

Reign styles WP Career Board out of the box. There is no bridge plugin, no compatibility add-on, and no CSS you have to write to stop the plugin pages looking like a different website. The same team builds the theme and the plugin, which is the whole reason it works this way.

In practice that means job listings, search and filter screens, and the single job page inherit the Reign design system: the same type scale, the same spacing, the same colors you set once in the customizer.

This pairing usually shows up on niche job boards, and hiring pages for a community, an association, or an alumni network. Add the other pieces that site needs and skip the rest, because each plugin is separate and almost all of them install free.

The other way to do this

WP Job Manager covers the same ground, and plenty of good communities run on it. We are not going to hide that.

Reign styles WP Job Manager through the Reign add-ons, $39 a year each for one site: WP Job Manager add-on. That path is fully supported and always has been. The difference is what you buy: with WP Career Board the styling is already in the theme, so there is no add-on line on the invoice.

The honest summary: that route works and we support it, it just puts an add-on on the invoice. This one does not. How buying works.
