Which engine should run your marketplace?
WP Sell Services, Dokan, WCFM or WC Vendors. Five questions, one answer, and the reasoning behind it. WP Sell Services is ours and installs free; the other three are third-party engines Reign has styled for years. The first question decides most of it: services and shipped products are not the same business.
Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere and there is no signup.
The four, side by side
Reign styles every one of them. The difference is what your vendors are selling, what you pay to start, and what you pay to make it match the rest of the site.
| Engine | Starts at | Reign styling | Best when |
|---|---|---|---|
| WP Sell Services Ours | Free plugin, Pro from $69/yr | Native, no add-on | Vendors sell services and custom work rather than shipped goods |
| Dokan | Free core, paid Pro | Dokan add-on, $39/yr | A general product marketplace with polished vendor dashboards |
| WCFM Marketplace | Free core, paid add-ons | WCFM add-on, $39/yr | Commission rules go per product or category, or vendors trade in several currencies |
| WC Vendors | Free core, paid Pro | WC Vendors add-on, $39/yr | A small product marketplace with a flat commission and simple onboarding |
Third-party licence prices are set by their own vendors and change, so check with them before you buy. The Reign prices are ours: the theme is $99 a year or $249 lifetime, and each add-on is $39 a year.
