Pick the community shape you are building, your engine choice if multiple exist, and your scale. Get a recommended kit and the total for the licence tier you choose.
Short answer: this tool tells anyone planning a Reign site which kit, which add-on and which build guide match the site they want to build, and what that costs for their licence tier. It looks the answer up from your choices. It does not guess.
This tool does not score or rank anything. It is a lookup. You choose what you are building, and for two of the eight shapes you also choose the engine you already run or plan to run. The tool then finds one row in a fixed table: a kit, the matching Reign add-on and the build guide for that shape. Nothing is guessed, and nothing changes between visits.
Two more answers change the numbers, not the recommendation. The number of sites picks which licence tier the prices come from. The kit or build-it-yourself choice decides which card is highlighted, and which button leads the result. The prices themselves are read from the same tier tables that the pricing page uses, so the tool and the pricing page cannot disagree.
Because it is a lookup, the tool is quick to read and easy to check. If you want to see why a shape maps to a kit, open the build guide linked in the result. It lays out the same stack in steps, with the free route first.
The first question is the shape of the site. Course community, multi-vendor marketplace, job board, business directory, membership site, coaching platform, enterprise intranet and private community are the eight shapes people most often ask us about. If yours sits between two, pick the one that earns the money. A paid course community with a forum is a course community. A membership with one course is a membership site.
The second question only appears for course communities and marketplaces, because those are the shapes where Reign styles several third-party engines. For courses the engines are LearnDash, LifterLMS and Tutor LMS. For marketplaces they are Dokan, WC Vendors and WCFM. Pick the one you already run, or the one your instructors or vendors already know. If you run none of them yet, skip ahead to the free route below, because our own plugins do the same job without a third-party licence.
For job boards and directories the tool maps to the WP Job Manager and GeoDirectory stacks, because those are the engines the matching kits are built for. If you are starting fresh, WP Career Board and Listora are ours, install free and are the better place to begin. The build guides for those lead with them.
A kit packages the Reign theme with the matching add-on in one purchase. For shapes that run on BuddyPress or BuddyBoss, the kit is the BuddyPress Community Bundle, which collects our Pro community plugins into one licence. Buying the pieces yourself means the theme plus the add-on, bought separately. The tool shows both cards side by side, so you can see what each route costs for the tier you chose.
Choose the kit when you want one purchase, one set of updates and one place to ask for help. Choose the separate route when you only need part of the bundle, or when you already own the theme and just need the add-on for a new engine. Neither route changes what your site can do. Both give you the same theme and the same add-on.
Some shapes have no add-on at all. Membership, intranet and private community sites run on the community stack, so the build-it-yourself card shows the theme alone. That is correct, not a bug. The community plugins install free from our own range, and Pro plans are bought per plugin when a specific limit hurts. The pricing page explains how each is priced.
Reign is the design layer and the only required purchase. Our own plugins install free and cover most of what the eight shapes need. Learnomy runs courses. WP Sell Services runs a services marketplace. WP Career Board runs a job board. Listora runs a directory. BuddyNext runs the community underneath all of them, and Jetonomy adds forums and Q&A.
The third-party kits are for people who already run one of those engines, or who need something our plugins do not cover. That is why the build guides lead with the free plugin and treat the kit as the alternative. If you are starting from nothing, read the guide for your shape first and come back to this tool if you decide on a third-party engine.
Start with the guide that matches your shape: course community with Learnomy, services marketplace with WP Sell Services, job board with WP Career Board, directory with Listora or community with BuddyNext.
It does not cover hosting, which is a separate cost and grows with traffic. The hosting page explains what a community site needs, and the scale page shows how larger sites are run. It does not include Pro plans for our own plugins, because most sites start without them. It does not cover the time you spend building, or the cost of a developer if you want help.
It also does not tell you whether the shape is right for your audience. A marketplace needs sellers and buyers. A job board needs employers. A directory needs listings before anyone submits. Those are launch questions, and the build guides cover them in the order you will meet them.
If you want a firm number for your whole setup, including migration and set-up work, ask us. Our team can scope it, and the services page describes what we can take off your hands.
Install the theme, then import a starting layout with the free Reign Demo Installer. The demos page lists layouts for each shape, built on the engines named in their titles. Treat the demo as your menu and page structure, then replace its sample content with your own.
Next, activate the engine and the add-on, and add BuddyNext so members have profiles and a feed. Test the whole member path with a second account before you invite anyone. Add the next piece, such as events, media or forums, only when members ask for it. Everything shares one login, so nothing needs to be rebuilt later.
FAQ
Choose the shape you are building, the engine you run if there is more than one, the number of sites you need and whether you prefer a bundled kit. The tool shows the matching kit, the theme-plus-add-on route and the build guide for your shape.
A kit packages the theme with the matching add-on in one purchase. Buying separately gives the same theme and add-on, bought as two items. The site you build is the same either way.
No. Reign styles our own plugins directly, with no add-on in between. Kits are for people who run a third-party engine such as LearnDash, Dokan or WP Job Manager.
It picks the licence tier. A single site, a small group of sites and an agency tier each have their own prices on the pricing page, and the tool reads them from the same tables.
No. It covers the theme, the add-on and the kit. Hosting is a separate cost, and Pro plans for our plugins are bought per plugin when you need them.
Yes. Everything runs on the same WordPress accounts, so you can add an add-on, move to a kit or add another plugin without rebuilding your site.
Both run on the community stack, so the tool points to the BuddyPress Community Bundle for sites on BuddyPress or BuddyBoss. On a new site, BuddyNext installs free. The membership site and enterprise intranet build guides cover each in steps.
Start with the engine your members use most and take that kit or add-on. Then add the add-on for the second engine on top of the same theme licence. Each add-on styles one plugin, so they sit side by side without overlap.
Yes. Open the live demos to click through each site type, or start a sandbox to try the admin side. Both show the same theme and plugins the package installs, so what you see is what you get.
Yes. The done-for-you setup package installs the theme, your plugins and your branding, then hands you a working site. The tool lists it as an option next to the kit and the free route.
No. You upload the theme and any add-on from your WordPress dashboard, then use the free Reign Demo Installer to import a starting layout. If you would rather not touch setup at all, the done-for-you package covers it.
They are read from the same tier tables as the pricing page, so the tool and the page agree. Check the pricing page for current figures.
Next step: open the demos to see the layout, or read the build guide for your shape from the build index.
