Reign + WPForms. Forms integration.

WPForms is the friendliest WordPress form builder. Drag-drop, templates, payments.

Reign plus WPForms covers the forms a community actually needs: contact, applications, feedback, event signups. The builder is friendly enough that someone non-technical maintains them, which matters more than raw capability on most sites, and the forms inherit the theme's input and button styling so they look like part of the page rather than an embed.

How it works with Reign.

Reign ships no plugin-specific styles for WPForms, and does not need to: its forms inherit the theme's input, button and typography styles by design. There is no override layer to maintain and nothing to break when either side updates. WPForms output sits inside Reign's containers and picks up the theme's field styling, so it looks like part of the page without configuration. It also has its own styling options if you want to depart from the theme deliberately, which is worth knowing before you go looking for CSS to override.

When to use it.

Use WPForms when you want forms built quickly by someone who is not a developer. The builder is the friendliest here and the templates cover most common needs. Reach for Gravity Forms instead when the form has real logic behind it, multiple pages, or needs to push data into another system.

4 steps to ship.

1

Install WPForms Lite (free) or WPForms Pro ($49.50-$299/yr).

2

Pick a template or start blank.

3

Embed via shortcode or block in any page.

4

Map fields to BuddyPress xProfile via Pro add-on.

What to check once it is live.

Submit the form and confirm the notification email actually arrives rather than only checking the entries list. Test on a phone, and if the form has more than a few fields, check the spacing there specifically. Confirm spam protection is on before you publish the page anywhere public.

WPForms integration questions.

Free version enough?

For contact forms yes. For payments + conditional logic + uploads you need Pro.

Do I need custom CSS for WPForms?

Usually not. It inherits the theme's input and button styling, so forms look like part of a Reign page out of the box. WPForms also has its own styling controls, so check those before writing CSS you would then have to maintain.

Is the free version enough?

For a contact form and a signup, often yes. Conditional logic, payments and most integrations are paid. Work out which of those you actually need before buying, because the free tier covers more than people expect for a community site.

Will forms work with my membership plugin?

Generally yes, and the common combinations are well trodden. What needs deciding is where registration happens: if your membership plugin owns signup, do not build a second registration form that creates users separately, because two paths into the member table is a problem you will be untangling for months.

Pick a bundled kit.

The Reign theme is $99/year or $249 lifetime and it is the only required purchase. Kits bundle it with the add-ons that style a third-party stack.
