What the site looks like on day one.
You launch with member profiles, a roster, tournament and event listings, and a discussion space. Profiles carry ranks and achievements, events handle sign-ups, and the feed is where matches get organised and argued about afterwards. Unlike Discord, all of it is searchable and stays put, which matters when a clan has years of history.
What a member actually does.
A player joins for the roster or a tournament, sets up a profile, and starts posting. Ranks and badges do real work in this niche because competitive players care about visible standing. Activity is spiky around events, which is normal. The clans that last are the ones where the site holds the history rather than losing it up a chat scroll.
How this usually makes money.
Most clans are not commercial; where money moves it is tournament entry fees, merchandise, or sponsorship once the clan is large enough to interest a brand. More than in almost any other niche. Competitive players respond to visible standing, so points and ranks earned from real participation genuinely drive activity. Tie them to things you want more of, like organising events rather than only playing in them.
Can we track match results?
As posts or a custom listing, and members generally enjoy maintaining the record. Full statistics tracking needs a dedicated tool; a well-kept results archive covers what most clans actually want.
How do we handle recruitment?
An application form and a trial period, managed through a private group. Most clans find a structured application filters out the players who would have left in a fortnight anyway.
