Reign + MemberPress. Membership integration.

MemberPress is the most-polished WordPress membership platform. Tiered access, drip content, recurring billing.

Reign + MemberPress for paid community tiers, gated courses, and recurring revenue. Native LearnDash + BuddyPress integration via MemberPress add-ons.

How it works with Reign.

MemberPress renders its own account, checkout and protected-content screens, and Reign does not ship a MemberPress-specific stylesheet, so those pages inherit the theme's typography, colours and container widths rather than being individually designed. In practice that is usually enough, because MemberPress markup is fairly plain. The place to look is the login and account area, where a membership plugin and a community plugin can both want to own the same page. Decide which one handles the member dashboard before you launch rather than after.

When to use it.

Use MemberPress when memberships and paid content gating are the core of the business and you want mature, well-documented tooling for tiers, coupons and dunning. It pairs rather than competes with our plugins: BuddyNext, Learnomy and Jetonomy give the members somewhere to be, something to learn and somewhere to ask, while MemberPress decides who gets in.

4 steps to ship.

1

Install MemberPress ($179-$399/yr).

2

Create 3 membership tiers (Free / Premium / Founders).

3

Map each tier to BuddyPress groups + LearnDash courses.

4

Connect Stripe for recurring billing.

What to check once it is live.

Sign up as a real member on a real card, then check what that member can and cannot see while logged in, in a private window. Cancel the subscription and confirm access ends when it should. The most common error is content that looks gated to you as an admin and is open to everyone else.

MemberPress integration questions.

MemberPress vs Paid Memberships Pro?

MemberPress wins on UI + onboarding flow + ecosystem. PMP wins on open-source + flexibility. For most Reign sites, MemberPress saves dev time.

Does Reign include MemberPress styles?

Not a dedicated stylesheet, no. MemberPress pages inherit the theme's typography, colours and layout, which is normally sufficient because its markup is plain. Reign does ship dedicated styles for Paid Memberships Pro, if a designed membership area matters more to you than any specific feature.

Which plugin owns the member dashboard?

Decide deliberately, because MemberPress and your community plugin can both provide one. Pick the account page your members should land on, point the menus at it, and disable or hide the other. Leaving both active is the most common source of confusion on a membership community.

Does content gating cost performance?

It adds what any plugin adds, and the honest way to find out is to measure your own site rather than trust a general claim. Gating runs a check on protected pages, which is cheap individually but worth caching around once you have many rules. On a community site the heavy pages are almost always the dynamic ones, profiles, feeds and directories, so that is where to look first if the site feels slow.

Pick a bundled kit.

The Reign theme is $99/year or $249 lifetime and it is the only required purchase. Kits bundle it with the add-ons that style a third-party stack.

Love this company

Love this company. Loved the REIGN product. They were there the entire time helping me set things up; and when things went wrong? They were quick to take action and help find a solution.
