An activity feed is the running list of what members post and do in a community, newest first: updates, replies, new members and shared media. It is usually the first screen a member sees after logging in.
Also called: news feed, community feed, activity stream
The feed is how a community shows that it is alive. A visitor who sees recent posts and replies knows people are here, and a member who sees their name mentioned has a reason to come back.
A good feed lets members post text and media, reply in threads, mention each other and filter what they see, for example by space or by people they follow. Without filters, a busy feed turns into noise.
