An online course is a structured set of lessons on one subject that a learner works through over the internet at their own pace or on a schedule.
Also called: e-learning course, digital course
A course gives learners a clear path from not knowing to knowing. It works best when each lesson has one goal and the whole thing ends with something they can show.
Look for sections, mixed lesson types, progress markers and a way for learners to ask questions.
